1930s Scottish Police Chief: Save the Loch Ness Monster
Archives recently made public by the Scottish government included some curious correspondence from a police chief expressing concern for the safety of the Loch Ness monster.
William Fraser, the chief constable of Inverness-shire in the 1930s, wrote a letter to a government official noting that a man from London, Peter Kent, "stated that he was having a special harpoon gun made and that he was to return [to Loch Ness] with some 20 experienced men on August 22 for the purpose of hunting the monster down." Fraser added that he warned Kent not to hunt for the creature, and suggested that some official government protection might be established. Still, he was not optimistic: "That there is some strange creature in Loch Ness seems now beyond doubt, but that the police have any power to protect it is very doubtful."

Mysterious X-37B unmanned space shuttle launched by U.S. ... and they won't say what it's for
It looks like the space shuttle's more diminutive cousin - but experts say it was created with technology from a generation beyond.

A UFO scientist can believe in.
While scientists don't think it's a comet, they're not exactly sure of the precise origin of the incredible object soaring some 90 million miles from Earth, snapped just a few weeks ago by the Hubble Space Telescope.

Mysteries of the deep
A full day of beam trawl camera operations on Wednesday fails to find any of the biodiverse benthic habitats scientists expected, other than a rock which, being the only bump around, has attracted a crowd of invertebrates. A curious underwater 'UFO' (later identified as a jellyfish) also pops into frame.

More UFO sightings at Largs.
I sit here reading your story about UFO sightings. Let me tell you what I saw.
On Christmas Eve, I was working in the Greenock area. About 9pm I was sitting in my work vehicle with two other workmates when we saw this bright orange light flying towards us. At first i thought it was a helicopter but as i looked closer i could not see any navigation lights or even hear any sound coming from it.
It was a bright clear night and there was not a sound and all that was in the sky was this bright light. It came from the Braeside area and headed over towards the cut and then it just disappeared.

Nanaimo couple spots UFOs flying over Mount Benson
The four "starlike lights did this weird zig-zag thing and then turned into green glowing spheres and then, poof, they disappeared upwards," Ansell said, gesturing frantically with his hands.
In less than 40 seconds it was all over, but Ansell and Kathleen captured three images they hope will eventually lead to an explanation of their mysterious sighting.
