What is floating in Marion County Lake?
They are prehistoric animals called a bryozoa. There are actually 4,000 different species of these creatures, although most live in tropical environments. They feed on what they can filter out fo the water, including algae. Experts say the animals are harmless, and when you see a lot of them that means the water quality is good. They are not as common in Kansas lakes as they used to be.

UFO Attracts Military Helicopters at Maryland State Park
This UFO video was recorded in the sky above State Park in Maryland. It was recorded on 29th June 2012 around 11 pm. According to the author of the video, this silent bright orange object take off and go into space as three black army helicopters watched and then circled the area for over 4 hours that night.
Multiple witnesses file UFO reports from northeastern Texas
Three UFO reports of triangle or disc-shaped objects on July 25, 2012, were reported from Denton County, Texas, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. A fourth case may be related from nearby Grayson County.
A witness was stargazing on an apartment patio in Denton County about 12:30 a.m. on July 25 when a triangle-shaped object was observed hovering in the sky in Case 41135.
"At first I thought it was a satellite, but noticed that it wasn't conventional moving across the sky," the witness stated. "Instead it was creating hovering-like motions as well as moving back and forth and even covering up other stars in the night sky."
A second witness in Denton County reported a triangle-shaped object at 10:35 p.m. on July 25, that was hovering and shooting beams of light in Case 41150.

Declassified 'UFO' Documents Don't Prove Alien Life
Alien spacecraft and little green men remain elusive figures in the latest trove of official UFO files released July 12 by the United Kingdom government.
There's no smoking gun anywhere in the 6,700 pages, which represent the ninth collection of government UFO files made public by the U.K.'s National Archives in Kew. But the new batch, which contains documents dating from 1965 to 2008, is full of interesting tidbits nonetheless.

Watch The Skies! Study Finds Increase In UFO Sightings In Canada
Ufology Research reports that there were about three UFO sightings per day in Canada, with 986 sightings total last year. The record for UFO sightings was in 2008 when a surprising 1,004 sightings were reported.
The report entitled “The 2011 Canadian UFO Survey” states that “the lion’s share of cases being Nocturnal Lights,” however a number of them were said to be shaped like boomerangs, spheres, and mysterious light sources.

What! No Mermaids
The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency recently issued a statement indicating it knew of no evidence of the existence of “aquatic humanoids.”
This remarkable statement was prompted by calls from viewers of Animal Planet’s “Mermaids: the Body Found,” which claimed such creatures exist. A swarm of television programs, listed as “scientific” and “reality based,” perpetuate similar pseudoscientific ideas that are gobbled up by viewers, especially kids.

UFO: Texas witness reports holographic-like flying triangle - Ottawa ufo | Examiner.com
“As I barely passed the north side of Pidcoke, I saw the object much more clearly.”
The witness reported the movements of the object.
“It moved back to the left side of the highway in a zig-zag motion.”
The witness soon concluded that he or she was not seeing an aeroplane, and also reported the striking brightness of the alien-like spacecraft.
“At this time, I realized this was not an airplane. It was a triangle-shaped craft with three very bright white lights underneath the craft. The lights were so bright, that I could clearly make out the triangle shape of the craft.”

'UFO' at the bottom of the Baltic Sea 'cuts off electrical equipment when divers get within 200m
The object was first found in May last year, but because of a lack of funding and bad timing, they have were not able to pull a team together to see for themselves - just the strange, metallic outline, and a similar disk-shaped object about 200 metres away.
During their visit, the team saw a 985-foot trail that they described 'as a runway or a downhill path that is flattened at the seabed with the object at the end of it'.

Is Bigfoot Possibly an Alien Entity?
I have often said that Sasquatch is the pet of aliens. They let them out to go pee and poo from time to time. They also need to stretch their legs.
Rather than being a missing link between man and the apes, Bigfoot may possibly be an alien entity. This intriguing possibility is derived from evidence in several solid UFO cases.
The earliest clues date back to 1888, when a cattleman described an encounter with friendly Indians in Humboldt County, California. They led him to a cave where he saw a hefty humanoid creature covered in long, shiny black hair, with no neck, sitting cross-legged.
One Indian told him three of these "Crazy Bears" had been cast out of a small moon that dropped from the sky and landed.The "moon" then ascended back into the air. So it's highly likely the "Crazy Bears" were really Bigfoots, and the "moon," a spacecraft.

To fill up the rest of the semester, the very old and very wise Mrs. Johnson (not her real name; changed to protect the innocent -- or guilty, depending on how you look at it) decided to teach us about Alaska myths and legends. I’m pretty darn sure she had a hidden agenda -- to pay back all the little hellions that frequently disrupted her class by scaring the living daylights out of us and filling our nights with cold sweats and nightmares of baby-stealing, child-eating monsters.

Thirteen foot alien on freeway presents dilemma for elites
"Before me there was a strange creature that walked along the road. He was tall, very tall, maybe 4 metres (11 feet).”
The main witness described the appearance of the alien.
“The alien’s head had a rounded shape and with a cone.”
The main witness tried to take photos.
“I tried to call and take pictures, but the phone was useless.”
Witnesses reported what the alien did next.

Bicycle Commuter Trends in the US- Graphic Representation
A University of Oregon student has released a great graphic depiction of America’s bicycle mode share, government spending on bike/ped infrastructure, and bicycle-related fatalities. Kory Northrop created the map, graphs, and text for an advanced cartography class and it gives a nice visual representation of various bike numbers. Besides being relevant to Eugene because it was created by a UO student, it also helps to show that the more we invest in bicycle infrastructure, the more likely it is that we will actually get our ridership up as well as our fatalities down– an important thing to consider as we move forward with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Here are the graphs and map followed by the text and sources.
